Ethnic Koreans in China form one of the 56 ethnicities officially recognized by the Chinese government. As of the year 2000, there were two million ethnic Koreans in China. Most of them live in the Northeast of China. Like many other ethnic groups in China, ethnic Korean people retain their rich history and culture. Korean dance is loved throughout China for its subtlety and grace. There are many forms of Korean dance including farmers dance, court dance, masked dance, sword dance, fan dance and drum dance. This dance will be performed using a flat drum as a prop. It skillfully combines the gracefulness of Korean girls together with their earnest desire for a simple and happy life.
